Garden of Life
The Garden of Life columbarium on the west side of the sanctuary affords Colonial members, families and friends:
• The privilege of the interment of cremains or the scattering of ashes
• The opportunity to memorialize a loved one
• The perfect setting for quiet meditation and prayer
The challenge we all face is finding comfort for family members who often live widely separated. Where will you call home — an anonymous cemetery or would you prefer a spiritual home at Colonial Church? The Garden of Life provides all our members and friends a “home” — a site where one can have a final resting place or where the family can honor someone who is interred elsewhere, a place of comfort and serenity.

Arrangements
To make arrangements for any of these options, contact the church office at 913-362-7735 or info@colonialucc.org. When possible, this should be done well in advance of need so that decisions can be made prior to the time of bereavement.
Celebration of Life Service
Colonial Church offers its building as a place to remember and honor those who have died with a Celebration of Life Service, also known as a funeral or a memorial service.
The service may be held in either our Sanctuary, which comfortably seat 250 people; or in our Founder’s Chapel which can accommodate up to 35 people for a simple service. The officiant will work with the family to plan the service, and the Sanctuary offers a range of options for music, including our newly refurbished organ.
We also can provide space for a reception or visitation.
