Join Us for Lent and Easter
-
Lenten Study
During the upcoming season of Lent between Ash Wednesday and Easter, Pastor Keith invites us to reflect on the Psalms and how God is always with us. He’ll share both the poetry of the Psalms and explore modern poetry as well. You’re invited to join in conversation to explore how all these resources can sustain and encourage us all within the season of Lent and for the long haul. We will meet on the 5 Sundays between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday (March 9, 16, 23, 30 and April 6) from 9:15-10:00am in the Oberlin Room.

Palm Sunday - April 13
Palm Sunday is a special time in the life of the Colonial Church community. It commemorates the beginning of Holy Week, and with scripture readings, palm waving, and music, we remember the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Palm Sunday is often a meaningful service that connects us to the story of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection in a powerful way.
Children's Palm Parade – Our children will lead us into Palm Sunday with a parade! All kids are welcome to meet in the Heritage Room between 10:00-10:15 a.m. to receive their palms and parade in together during the first hymn.

Maundy Thursday Worship – 7:00 p.m. April 17
On Maundy Thursday, we will gather in the quiet of Holy Week to remember the night before Jesus’ crucifixion: a night of love, betrayal, and profound meaning. Through scripture, prayer, and communion, we will recall the Last Supper and Jesus’ commandment to love one another as he has loved us. This sacred service invites us into the mystery and tenderness of that evening long ago. Come and be part of this time of reflection and connection as we prepare our hearts for the solemn reality of Good Friday and the radiant triumph of Easter.

Easter Worship - 10:15 a.m.
Join us for Easter worship at 10:15 a.m. with choir and children’s activity. The nursery will be available from 9:00-11:30 a.m.
A slightly shorter service will occur at 8:30 a.m. without choir or children’s activity.
Easter Breakfast – Join us between services for breakfast.

You Are Welcome Here.
We Exist to Be a Blessing.
Colonial Church was founded to be a “mission post on Mission Road.” We envision ourselves not as settlers, but as a growing colony of love and grace—cultivating compassion, community, and justice in the heart of Prairie Village.
Inclusive. Accepting. Welcoming.
At Colonial Church in Prairie Village, we believe that everyone deserves a spiritual home where they can belong and be celebrated for who they are. As a proud member of the United Church of Christ, we are an Open and Affirming congregation, committed to fully embracing people of all orientations, identities, and expressions. Here, you’ll find a warm, inclusive community that honors each person’s journey, supports one another in faith, and strives to make a positive impact in the world. Whether you’re seeking connection, purpose, or a place to grow, you have a place with us. Welcome home!
